Lexshastra exists because the tools Indian advocates were handed were never built for the way Indian courts actually work. We're building the ones that are.
Built from the problem, not the product
Lexshastra started with an observation anyone in practice will recognise: advocates in India spend an extraordinary amount of time on work that isn't law. Checking eCourts every morning. Copying hearing dates from a peshkar's list into a diary, then onto WhatsApp. Hunting through folders for an order before a client call. None of it is legal work, and all of it is unavoidable without better tools.
The software that existed didn't help. International practice management tools assume US or UK procedure and have no concept of a CNR number, a cause list, or a district court hierarchy. The Indian alternatives were built a decade ago and largely abandoned since. Most firms ended up on spreadsheets by default.
So we built for the Indian system first. Cases import from eCourts by CNR and stay in sync on their own. Cause lists are polled overnight and surface in your agenda before you reach court. Research runs against our own corpus of Indian judgments. Drafting produces filings structured the way a court expects to receive them.
Lexshastra is used today by independent advocates, litigation firms, and in-house legal teams across India. It is built by a small team in India, and every feature in it exists because someone in practice told us what was getting in their way.

Our AI drafts, summarises, and researches. It never files, never sends, and never edits your work without you. Every output is a draft for an advocate to review and own.
Confidentiality is not a feature
Case data sits on encrypted infrastructure in India under role-based access you control. We do not sell it, mine it, or share it. It is privileged material and we treat it that way.

The platform runs in twelve Indian languages alongside English, so your team can work in the language it actually uses.

Lexshastra is built in India by engineers who work alongside practising advocates. We sit in on court days, watch how matters actually move through a chamber, and ship against what we see rather than what we assume. The roadmap is shaped by the firms using the platform, and we answer support ourselves.

Started Lexshastra in 2020, during a college internship, after seeing how much of legal practice still ran the traditional way while the technology to change it was already available and had barely touched the profession. Built the first version while still studying and has rebuilt it in many forms since. The company was incorporated in Pune in 2025.
